LAMBORGHINI Urus

One car’s name was on everyone’s lips at the Beijing motor show this week: the Lamborghini Urus. That Lamborghini’s been thinking about making an SUV is one of motoring’s worst-kept secrets. Lambo has seen sales go crazy in China and other parts of Asia, but several factors - the atrocious state of the roads, primarily - mean that many buyers in Asia would prefer a high-riding SUV to a low-slung sports car

BMW is about cars most of the time, but it also has a motorbike division and it's been working just as hard as the car concept team to embrace electric as the main power source.

On show at the BMW Pavilion in the Olympic Park, as well as being used as part of the Olympic fleet, the BMW E-Scooter can go 62 miles on a single charge at speeds up to 75mph.

HTC TABLET

HTC will definitely be launching a new Android tablet in the UK, as well as a new mid-range smartphone from the Desire family, if recent rumours are to be believed.
The specs outline an Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone with a 4-inch 800 x 480 display, with a 1GHz dual-core processor and 768MB RAM, 4GB of user memory.

"Our hardware partners are doing some really cool things for the Windows Phone 8 launch."
That's the word from Greg Sullivan, Senior Product manager for Windows Phone at Microsoft, having seen what's in store for Windows Phone fans later in the year.
"We are really excited by the hardware we are seeing from our current partners. We are big believers in them," added Sullivan to Pocket-lint in a behind-closed-doors interview.
That confidence in what third-party smartphone manufacturers like Samsung, HTC, and Nokia are doing probably means that Microsoft is unlikely to look to build its own dedicated Windows Phone smartphone in the same way it has with the Surface tablet for Windows RT announced in June.

window 8 full version release date

Windows 8 is now the finished article as the new Microsoft OS gets set to be “released to manufacturing” (RTM). However, the average consumer will still have to wait until 26 October.

The fact that Microsoft is in a position to begin rolling out an RTM Windows 8 version means that all testing and development have been completed.

For the consumer this time frame may cause frustration, but what it should mean is that by the 26 October launch, Windows 8 will be a polished OS will a host of apps available for download.

World's thinnest smartphone

World's thinnest smartphone

.

The Oppo Finder may lay claim to being the thinnest smartphone in the world; it also turns out it’s a bit of a bruiser. A video has been posted showing the handset being used to hammer nails into a block of wood.

While the phone is unlikely to retire the hammer – a couple of nails fail to fully bite the wood – the Oppo Finder appears to be left without a scratch on it. This is despite the screen as well as the side of the phone being used with some force.

The Oppo Finder is only 6.65mm thick, making it for now (thinner handsets are set to be unveiled) the world’s thinnest smartphone and is available in China for $393.

As well as its svelte body and super-strength build, the Oppo Finder packs a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is powered with a dual-core A15 processor and 1GB of RAM.

i phone 5 wil release in september

Note the date: 21 September 2012 is when the iPhone 5 will launch after a 12 September reveal, according to more sources with knowledge of the matter.
If the 21 September date sounds familiar, it's because the date was already being bandied around earlier in the month by French blog site App4phone.fr after it learnt that a large Chinese accessory-maker had been told directly by Apple to be prepared for this date.
This time it's Apple news site iMore which supposedly has the details of the launch of the next iPhone.
"iMore has heard that Apple is planning to debut the new iPhone at a special event on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, with the release date to follow nine days later on Friday, September 21. This information comes from sources who have proven accurate in the past," reports the site.
When is the new iPhone 5 coming? All the rumours and details
According to iMore, the iPad mini will also be announced at the same September 12 event, as will the new iPod nano, but the site hasn't managed to find out a release date yet.
The timings do make sense: it's the same time frame as the launch of the iPhone 4S as well as meaning Apple would avoid clashes with the Microsoft juggernaut planned for October.
Microsoft is planning on dominating October this year with several high-profile launches including the launch of the Window 8 operating system, the Microsoft Surface tablet, the launch of SmartGlass on the Xbox 360 and Halo 4, as well as the expected launch of Windows Phone 8.
If Apple were to launch the iPhone 5 in September, this would allow the company to avoid any clashes, but also make sure the new iPhone and iPad mini featured in any comparison with anything Microsoft was launching.
It also means that Apple wouldn't have to compare iPhone 5 sales directly with iPhone 4S sales as they fall into different financial quarters, something Apple likes to do so it can boast huge increases in sales for the same quarter of the previous year.
iPhone 5: More parts pieced together in pics and video
Of course iMore could be guessing, however with two independent sources now claiming the same time frames, connecting the dots and making sure 2 plus 2 equals more than four and end of September release date is looking more and more likely by the day.
UPDATE 30 July: Now All Things Digital, the tech section of the Wall Street Journal, is also claiming its sources confirm the 12 September event date:
"Sources tell AllThingsD that Apple is currently planning an event for that week. And while we haven’t yet confirmed its focus, history suggests it will indeed be the new iPhone."
UPDATE 31 July: Following the "confirmed" stories above, Reuters,Bloomberg, and the New York Times are all now also claiming they have independent sources close to the matter that are confirming the 12 September launch date.
